yajñārthāt karmaṇo ’nyatra loko ’yaṁ karma-bandhanaḥ tad-arthaṁ karma kaunteya mukta-saṅgaḥ samāchara
Work must be done as a yajña (sacrifice) to the Supreme Lord; otherwise, work causes bondage in this material world. Therefore, O son of Kunti, perform your prescribed duties, without being attached to the results, for the satisfaction of God.

tasmād asaktaḥ satataṁ kāryaṁ karma samāchara asakto hyācharan karma param āpnoti pūruṣhaḥ
Therefore, giving up attachment, perform actions as a matter of duty, for by working without being attached to the fruits, one attains the Supreme.arise from sense perception, O scion of Bharata, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.

karmaṇaiva hi sansiddhim āsthitā janakādayaḥ loka-saṅgraham evāpi sampaśhyan kartum arhasi yad yad ācharati śhreṣhṭhas tat tad evetaro janaḥ sa yat pramāṇaṁ kurute lokas tad anuvartate
By performing their prescribed duties, King Janak and others attained perfection. You should also perform your work to set an example for the good of the world. Whatever actions great persons perform, common people follow. Whatever standards they set, all the world pursues.

mātrā-sparśāstukaunteya
śītoṣṇa-sukha-duḥkha-dāḥ
āgamāpāyino ’nityās
tāṁstitikṣasvabhārata
O son of Kuntī, the nonpermanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, O scion of Bharata, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.

anta-kāle ca māmeva
smaranmuktvākalevaram
yaḥprayātisa mad-bhāvaṁ
yātināstyatrasaṁśayaḥ
And whoever, at the time of death, quits his body, remembering Me alone, at once attains My nature. Of this there is no doubt.

tasmātsarveṣukāleṣu
māmanusmarayudhya ca
mayyarpita-mano-buddhir
māmevaiṣyasyasaṁśayaḥ
Therefore, Arjuna, you should always think of Me in the form of Kṛṣṇa and at the same time carry out your prescribed duty of fighting. With your activities dedicated to Me and your mind and intelligence fixed on Me, you will attain Me without doubt.

mayādhyakṣeṇaprakṛtiḥ
sūyatesa-carācaram
hetunānenakaunteya
jagadviparivartate
This material nature is working under My direction, O son of Kuntī, and it is producing all moving and unmoving beings. By its rule this manifestation is created and annihilated again and again.

patraṁpuṣpaṁphalaṁtoyaṁ
yo me bhaktyāprayacchati
tad ahaṁbhakty-upahṛtam
aśnāmiprayatātmanaḥ
If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it.

man-manā bhava mad-bhakto
mad-yājīmāṁnamaskuru
māmevaiṣyasiyuktvaivam
ātmānaṁ mat-parāyaṇaḥ
Therefore, Arjuna, you should always think of Me in the form of Kṛṣṇa and at the same time carry out your prescribed duty of fighting. With your activities dedicated to Me and your mind and intelligence fixed on Me, you will attain Me without doubt.

mac-cittā mad-gata-prāṇā
bodhayantaḥparasparam
kathayantaś ca māṁnityaṁ
tuṣyanti ca ramanti ca
The thoughts of My pure devotees dwell in Me, their lives are surrendered to Me, and they derive great satisfaction and bliss enlightening one another and conversing about Me.

mat-karma-kṛn mat-paramo
mad-bhaktaḥsaṅga-varjitaḥ
nirvairaḥsarva-bhūteṣu
yaḥsamāmetipāṇḍava
My dear Arjuna, one who is engaged in My pure devotional service, free from the contaminations of previous activities and from mental speculation, who is friendly to every living entity, certainly comes to Me.

sarva-yoniṣukaunteya
mūrtayaḥsambhavantiyāḥ
tāsāṁ brahma mahadyonir
ahaṁbīja-pradaḥpitā
It should be understood that all species of life, O son of Kuntī, are made possible by birth in this material nature, and that I am the seed-giving father.

mac-cittaḥsarva-durgāṇi
mat-prasādāttariṣyasi
athacettvamahaṅkārān
naśroṣyasivinaṅkṣyasi
If you become conscious of Me, you will pass over all the obstacles of conditional life by My grace. If, however, you do not work in such consciousness but act through false ego, not hearing Me, you will be lost.

man-manā bhava mad-bhakto
mad-yājīmāṁnamaskuru
māmevaiṣyasisatyaṁte
pratijānepriyo ’si me
Always think of Me and become My devotee. Worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend.

sarva-dharmānparityajya
māmekaṁśaraṇaṁvraja
ahaṁtvāṁsarva-pāpebhyo
mokṣayiṣyāmimāśucaḥ
Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear.
